In 2013, trade with Switzerland amounted to EUR 231.1 million, an increase of only 0.1% compared to 2012. Exports amounted to EUR 77.8 million, an increase of 8.8%, while imports decreased by 3.8% and amounted to EUR 153.3 million. The coverage of imports by exports in the same period rose to 50.75%.
In the period from January to November 2014, total trade with Switzerland amounted to EUR 225.2 million, which is 8.2% more than in the same period last year. Exports decreased by 1.8% to EUR 69.2 million while imports increased by 13.4% to EUR 156 million. The coverage of imports by exports in the same period was 44.4%.
According to the NBS the net value of investments in cash in the period from 2002 to April 2014 amounted to EUR 523.3 million. In the period from January 2005 to December 2013, the net value of investments of EUR 483.1 million ranked Switzerland the 10th largest foreign investor.
In 2013, it invested EUR 49 million and ranked the 3rd (NBS data). In the first half of 2014, Switzerland invested EUR 68.2 million (this year’s data are harmonized with the Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Manual, sixth edition).
