OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE CLEANTECH EXHIBITION

At the official opening of the cleantech exhibition in STP Belgrade on September 21, 2021: H.E. Erwin Bollinger, Ambassador, Head Bilateral Economic Relations, State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO.

The exhibition “Can tech save the world” was opened on September 21, 2021 at the Science Technology Park Belgrade. The exhibition is presenting more than 30 innovative, clean-tech solutions developed by Serbian and Swiss startups and growing companies.

In tackling the many questions associated with environmental protection, these companies have come up with some interesting solutions that can help mitigate climate change and environmental challenges.

The exhibition will be open from September 22nd to 28th for all visitors interested in innovations that contribute to building a more sustainable world. The exhibition is organized by the Swiss Embassy, in cooperation with local partners: the Science Technology Park Belgrade, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the Swiss-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, and the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbia. The goal is to create a dialogue between Swiss and Serbian key representatives on the topics of a sustainable economy and environmental protection, to foster bilateral collaboration in the clean-tech sector, and to draw attention to Swiss and Serbian clean-tech solutions and startups.

As this exhibition shows, we are all committed to reaching the goals of the United Nations Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development in order to both achieve sustainable economic growth and to protect our environment. We are convinced that a joint approach is required, including governments, civil society, and the private sector. If we succeed in maintaining and building on this common approach, reflected in this exhibition here in Belgrade, we will master one of the greats challenges of our time – reconcile economy and ecology. And after today it should be clear that Switzerland and Serbia can and must add their contribution to this – said Erwin Bollinger, Head Bilateral Economic Relations, State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO.

The opening of the exhibition was also an opportunity for networking of Serbian and Swiss innovative companies, which considered possibilities for further cooperation and joint projects.
